AFSCME Advantage verification is handled by HSA in most instances. Any issues or questions can be directed to AFSCME membership services at 202-429-1000, then ask for the AFSCME Advantage department.

Salary

Per our CBA (available here), housestaff salary increases every year as a cost of living adjustment, as well as increasing with PGY level.

Current salary (as of 6/1/24) for PGY-1 is $58,946.

Meal stipend

$5,500 per year divided equally into each paycheck.

Education stipend

$1,500 per year for conference expenses, study materials, exams, smart phone, laptop, etc.

Health/vision/dental insurance

HMO starting at 2.25% of salary.

PPO starting at 3.25% of salary.

Disability insurance

Premium is paid by the HSA, so no direct cost to house staff. The plan is through Northwestern Mutual.

Maximum monthly benefit is $2,500.

Benefits accrue on the 91st day of disability.
